Can you find the flow or lack thereof in these flowtos?

There is flow shown several ways here:

1. The far right tower shows the process to install brick. First, flashing, then spray foam followed by brick bottom up. They appear to be almost finished with the process on the short elevation and turning the corner.

2. You also see someone covering up a pile of dirt. This will allow soils not to become contaminated, allowing the project to flow when ready f

The next two photos are the same building. You see the flow of steel progressing towards to road. The roof, parapet and metal wall panels are quick to follow! FLOW!

Same building as above, you can see the metal wall panels, parapet and roof have caught up with the steel! FLOW!

This building the flow is obviously moving from left to right with window install and ice/water shield. What other flow do you see here? FLOW!

Flow is not currently happening but can you imagine how easy it is to flow in and out of this room for the right tool? Look close, each tool has a labeled location! Quickly identify when something is missing or out of place. Great application of 5S here! FLOW!

The team has set themselves up to flow value to the customer! FLOW!

CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT OVER PRODUCTIVITY

This is a tough counterintuitive approach to developing MORE productivity. Which do you value more? Capability or Productivity? I thoroughly enjoyed the time on Jason's podcast!

Welcome to the Flowto (Photo) Gallery!

Flow is extremely difficult to spot, which could help explain why it is so hard to obtain on a construction project site. Context is paramount when considering whether or not there is flow happening in the photos below - so captions have been added for your enjoyment! Flow can take many different forms including the following:

  • The sequence of activities in a project's progression to completion
  • Material handling from vendor to permanently installed location
  • Installation location access
  • Information communicated between teams
  • Water flow on job sites

When referring to flow, think about resources that have a steady movement.
